Over the years many people have wondered how Rockin' in Rhythm manage to produce their unique sound.
Undeniably they have taken many ideas from the well known bands of the swing era, from individual musicians and arrangers. Of course many bands have done the same but have merely sounded derivative and cliched.
Somehow Rockin' in Rhythm has avoided this pitfall and has created a sound and a feel that is truly fresh and original, despite being so firmly rooted in a particular style and period.
That this has been acheived has long baffled jazz experts and musicologists. That is, until now.
I can reveal that thanks to modern algebraic theorem it is now possible to explain the music of Rockin' in Rhythm in mathematical terms, thus:-
